18th Of Career Comes At Historic Night Race

MEXICO CITY – Rogelio López claimed the pole position in NASCAR Toyota Series qualifying on Saturday for the Mexico Nocturna 200 presented by AC Delco Auto Parts at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

The veteran out of Aguascalientes, Mexico made his way around the one-mile oval in 32.463 seconds for an average speed of 110.895 mph. The 18th series-career pole for López came on a historic night as the race will be the first under the lights at the track nestled in the Mexican capital. It is also his fourth pole victory at the track.

First Night Race At Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez

For the first time in Mexico City, the NASCAR Toyota Series will battle under the lights on the one-mile oval at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Rogelio López brings a slim two-point advantage over Daniel Suárez in the championship point standings. López is a three-time winner at the track with his last victory coming in 2009. Homero Richards has claimed the checkered flag in two of the last three series events in the Mexican capital.

Picks Up 10th Career Toyota Series Win In GWC Finish

QUERÉTARO, Mexico – Homero Richards weathered a late-race challenge to collect his 10th career NASCAR Toyota Series Sunday in the Queretana 200 at Nuevo Autódromo de Querétaro.

A green-white-checkered finish stretched the race to 166 laps and Richards had to hold off runner-up Daniel Suárez  as well as Rogelio López and Irwin Vences.

Richards started second and led twice for a race-high 69 laps, including the final 38. He has a pair of wins and two seconds in his last five starts on the .75-mile oval.

Collects Second Career Toyota Series Pole
Mexico Series

QUERETARO, Mexico – José Luis Ramírez won his second career NASCAR Toyota Series pole award Saturday in qualifying for Sunday’s Queretana 200 at Autódromo del Ecocentro de la Unión Ganadera.

Ramírez lapped the .746-mile oval in 29.644 seconds to edge Homero Richards (20.669) and Elliot Van Rankin (29.728).

Rafael Martinez and Irwin Vences qualified fourth and fifth, respectively.

Hugo Oliveras qualified sixth, followed by Jorge Goeters and rookies Juan Blum, Alex Villasana Jr. and Ruben Garcia Jr.

Points leader Antonio Pérez qualified 24th.
